About
Since the reform of the Brazilian Electric Power Sector in the early 2000s, the contracting model has been based on the federal government holding centralized auctions for the purchase of electric power. PSR works with clients on designing strategies for participation in the bids, as well as providing technical-regulatory support in conjunction with other PSR teams.
What we do
Survey of potential competitors
Based on public data and conversations with the market, a qualitative analysis is performed of what the main technologies and projects competing in a given event would be.
Competitiveness analysis in the auction
Based on specific information about the client’s asset(s), an economic-financial evaluation is performed (under uncertainty, where it makes sense) to evaluate its competitiveness in the auction when compared to potential competitors, modeled from representative typical projects.
Support for the modeling of contract rules, in the context of an economic-financial evaluation
Support for the review of the modeling process, in cases where a client has their own model for competitiveness evaluation, to ensure that contract rules and other technical-regulatory aspects are adequately modeled.
