About

An in-company or virtual course addressing the calculation of Settlement Prices of Differences (PLD) in the Brazilian electric sector, exploring its main drivers and characteristics. The methodologies used by the computational models employed by the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and the Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber (CCEE) to determine the PLD will be discussed: Newave, Decomp, and Dessem. In addition, complementary aspects will be presented, such as the autoregressive model for hydrology projection, the representation of the transmission network, the forecast of generation from non-dispatchable renewable sources, and the risk aversion criteria applied in the operation of generators and hydroelectric reservoirs. The course can include additional modules for a more comprehensive training on the Brazilian Electric Sector, such as: the physical characteristics of the sector, the main agents and institutions, the presentation of energy markets, the role of energy contracts, contract prices in the free market, how captive market tariffs are defined, among others.
